Ours was much like Thanksgiving. We went over to Joe's parents' house first, where we had turkey, stuffing, deliciously prepared peas with mushrooms, and roasted potatoes. After that, we went to visit my Mom and had some Vietnamese noodle soup. Gotta love meal-after-meal holidays.
I hadn't seen Mom since she came back from Vietnam last month, so she had a stack of gifts for me:
- a little phone ornament from Japan (I'd asked her to get me something Japanese during her 2-hour layover)
- pair of jeans
- sweater
- $10 Chanel purse (hey, it was Vietnam, after all)
- Zeiss Ikon camera from my grandfather (photo from Wikipedia)
Best gift ever, non? I can't wait to use it.
